30 Days and counting!

I got my plane tickets in the mail last week, so I guess it's really official! I fly to Dallas on March 24th, for staging - where I'll meet my other team members who are going to Belize, attend orientation classes, get my final immunizations and passport before we fly to Belize on March 25th. I've been emailing several volunteers who are currently in Belize and I feel as though I already have friends there. I can't wait to meet them!
The last month has gone so fast and I'm sure these last 30 days will go even faster. Dad and I drove back to Ohio in early February with is cat, Moak. We stopped in Atlanta so I could meet with several people at the National American Cancer Society office who work on international cancer initiatives. Volunteers are responsible for implementing a project seperate from their Peace Corps project, so I have been making contacts with Rotary Clubs and several organizations that I might be able to work with when I receive my permanent assignment.
I flew back to Florida on February 14th after saying good-bye to my Dad, brother, his family and my Dayton friends.
Since I got back, I've been very busy arranging for my phones, cable and internet to be disconnected, going paperless, and getting everything converted to electronic records that I can access when I can get to an internet connection. And, I'm also making preparations to close up my condo, sell my car, start packing and, of course, see friends before I leave. I'm taking scuba classes in March to get certified before i leave because the diving in Belize is some of the most beautiful in the world.
It doesn't seem possible that I'll be ready in time, but I'm sure things will come together as the time approaches.
